PBL is a fundamentally different way of learning medicine. Students considering AGU want to understand what a typical week looks like, how assessments work, and whether graduates feel well prepared for clinical practice compared to lecture-based programs.

ok so ive heard of PBL before but never really understood how it works day to day. is it basically just group discussions instead of lectures or is there more structure to it than that

from what i understand its built around cases. like you get given a patient scenario at the start of the week, then in small groups (usually like 8-10 students) you brainstorm what you already know, identify what you dont know, and split up learning objectives to research on your own before the next session

That sounds kinda intense not gonna lie. so theres basically no traditional lecture at all where a prof just teaches you the content directly? feels like a lot of pressure on the students to teach themselves correctly
