wilsone (Student) I transferred in from a Caribbean school that lost its accreditation midway through my first year. AUA took some of my credits but I still had to repeat a couple of modules. The whole process took almost two months to sort out.
mwalker (Student) Different experience than wilsone though. The admissions team was straightforward with me during my transfer review. They were clear about what would carry over and what wouldn't. I appreciated that they didn't oversell it.
nbello (Student) Same experience as mwalker (Student) here. How many of you came in as transfers vs started here from scratch? Just trying to get a sense of how common this actually is.
ethanmartin (Student) More common than you'd think. There are a few people in my cohort who transferred from other programs. The ones coming from accredited schools had a smoother credit review than those from less recognized programs.
christopher_lutchman (Student) I came from a DO program in the US that I had to leave for personal reasons. The credit transfer was messier than expected because the curriculum structures were so different. Admin was slow to finalize my standing too, took a full semester.
sancheza (Alumni) If you're considering transferring in just know that you probably won't get full credit for everything. Go in expecting to repeat some coursework so you're not blindsided when the evaluation comes back.
taylore (Student) Not entirely with nbello on this one. Transferred in about eighteen months ago and it was the right call. My previous school had serious faculty issues and the environment had gotten genuinely toxic. AUA isn't perfect but it feels more stable.
