carmenokafor (Alumni) Been looking at both seriously. AUA has a longer history and a stronger presence with US clinical rotation sites from what I've researched. Xavier is newer and the Aruba campus is smaller.
jenniferm (Alumni) Same experience as carmenokafor here. Xavier's tuition is competitive and some people like the smaller cohort. But AUA's match list is more documented which matters when you're trying to plan your future.
zcarter (Alumni) jenniferm (Alumni) covered the main points well. i asked an AUA admissions rep about this directly. they pointed me to their USMLE pass rates. couldn't get the same clarity from Xavier's side when I asked.
madisonb (Alumni) Building on what zcarter (Alumni) mentioned. Both are ECFMG eligible which is the baseline you need. Beyond that it comes down to which environment works for you. AUA's larger class might be better for networking.
davisl (Student) Someone in my network went the Xavier route and matched into a solid IM program. Sample size of one but it's not a dead end.
anikachang (Student) The bigger thing to compare is where their clinical sites actually are. If you're planning to settle in a specific state eventually, make sure the school has rotation sites in that region.
